Influence of high and subsequent low-temperature artificial ageing on exfoliation corrosion of AA2024

The present study aims at assessing the mechanical behavior of aluminum alloy (AA2024) subjected to exfoliation corrosion. material was exposed high temperature and subsequent low (HLA) treatment further heat-treated samples were corrosion for duration 48 96 h room temperature. HLA increases retention property in corrosive environment. Further, hardness impact strength also increased under environment with treatment.
